Eleventh Hour Cleaning Tips

If you have been reading our blog, you know that we think it’s incredibly important to make your house presentable to would-be purchasers. Today we provide tips on how to get your house ready for a showing in a hurry; let’s be honest, lived-in houses are difficult to keep spotless. The bottom line is that a well-staged house sells quickly and for more, and part of staging is keeping it clean.

(1) How to Clean Your House in 5 Minutes

First things first, put the toilet seat down. Is it a deal breaker if it’s not done? Probably not; why risk it though? While we are on bathrooms, hide cleaning supplies, amenities, and anything you might read while you’re using the bathroom as intended. Next, open the blinds in your house, people like to see how well-lit rooms can be. Finally, take out your trash and recycling! It’s amazing that some people forget to do that, but this is your reminder.

(2) How to Clean Your House in 15 Minutes

15 minutes is a long time if you know what you’re doing. Clean the clutter off your countertops; clutter is a major turn off to people who want to imagine how they would live in your home and clutter is distracting. Set the temperature to about 70 degrees so it’s comfortable inside your house. Whatever feeling a potential purchaser has inside your home will be associated with it when they make the decision about whether or not to buy; yes, the temperature has an impact on that.

At the Chernov Team we understand that knowledge is power and being able to make your house ready for guests in a hurry is a powerful piece of knowledge to have. At the Chernov Team we know that whoever comes to the table most prepared leaves with the most, and the Chernov Team always leaves the table with the most.
